Norfolk Park is located 1 mile South East of Sheffield’s city centre and covers almost 30 hectares. The park was originally gifted by the Duke of Norfolk in 1910 and not only has a rich history as one of the oldest public spaces in the county it also boasts incredible views of Sheffield (on a clear day!)

Our walk meets every Friday from 10 o'clock just outside the Centre in the Park where we gather in the foyer for a catch up of the week before setting off to excercise. The walk begins around 10:15 am and usually lasts approximately 45 minutes before we make our way back to the Centre in the Park for refreshments in the foyer. 

Mostly our walk takes the form of a simple circuit of the park. There is an uphill incline on the way back to the centre in the park, taking a bit more energy. However we encourage people to keep to a pace they feel comfortable with and, if necessary, make use of a convenient bench half way up the hill!
 
All paths are well surfaced and therefore suitable for wheels. We encourage all walkers to go at their own pace, as far and comfortably as desired and rest if needed.
 

We are a very friendly group made up of people of a variety of ages and backgrounds. We always enjoy welcoming new walkers to the group and you will be greeted not only by the great views but also by a friendly face and a warm smile.

Buses:   The number 41 passes the Granville Road park entrance. (that's the closest to the Centre in the Park but, unfortunately, right at the bottom of the park). However there is a tram stop on Arbourthorne Road, which is a 5 minute walk to the Centre in the Park, and it is a downhill walk from there!

Parking: There is a car park close to the Centre in the park which you can access from the Guilford Avenue entrance. If that's full you can park on Guildfield Avenue itself.
