Walkers outside Christchurch Hall, Dore

This walk is Step Out Sheffield's newest walk. It was launched on 21st September 2021 and replaces the Tuesday morning Woods walk that ran from Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet every Tuesday morning from January 2003 until the Covid pandemic lockdown in March 2020 and subsequent re-purposing of the Hamlet resources.

Each week the volunteer walk leaders offer a choice of walks. One walk is more or less flat and delivered at a gentle pace. Another is delivered at a brisker pace and covers much more ground and sometimes includes field paths and the occasional stile. If there are sufficient volunteers, an intermediate walk is also available. Walks vary from week to week depending on weather and ground conditions and where the walks went in the preceeding weeks. Variety being the spice of life! As with all our walks, the volunteers are there to ensure that all walkers travel at a pace they find comfortable. After the walk refreshments are served in the back room of the Community Centre to enable walkers to socialise after their exertions.

The walk itself is free but a small charge is made for refreshments after the walk to help defray the cost of hiring the premises.
