The Firshill easy access walks are not suitable for wheel chairs or baby buggies. New walkers need to be aware that although walks are always under 60 minutes walkers always stay together as a single group. There are sometimes options for walkers to 'opt out' before returning to the start but those with limited mobility may find this walk challenging. Green spaces in this area include Parkwood Springs, Roe Wood, Earl Marshal Recreation ground, and Burngreave Cemetery.

Because the group hasn't found a suitable community centre or café to meet at and return to after the walk they don’t always finish in Firshill. For example occasionally they walk into town, stop for a cuppa in a café and then catch a bus back. On other occasions they  might catch a bus to a pre-agreed destination and do their walk there.

Please note - when the group decide to walk away from Firshill they don't always meet at 10.30 at their usual meeting point. To avoid disappointment we strongly recommend you contact the Step Out Sheffield Helpline on 07505639524 to check where the group is walking that week if you plan to join for the first time or are returning to the group after a break.

New walkers are very welcome. Why not come and give us a try? The walks are free (nothing to expend except energy) - just bring your bus pass in case the plan is to walk outside the local area.

Buses:      Numerous buses travel along Barnsley Road . Visit the Travel S Yorkshire website and use the Journey planner and Timetable finder Apps for up to date information. Alternatively, phone the Traveline on 08009520002.
