Rose garden cafe jan 2019

Graves Park is located 3 miles south of Sheffield city centre, and at 87 hectares, it is the city's largest public park. The park boasts 2 playgrounds, woodlands, lakes, sports grounds, a cafe and an urban farm with animals. The views on the walks are quite outstanding.

People start to gather for the walk at about  09:45 so they can have a chat before they walk. After the walk, which for some lasts up to 60 minutes, the conversations often continue over refreshments in the Rose Cottage Cafe.

There are two walks each week to cover all abilities and preferences. There is a shorter walk which is relatively level and which uses tarmac paths, and a longer walk which needs slightly more energy and takes in the woodlands and has fairly steep ascent and descents. The longer walk can sometimes be muddy in places. Both walks generally last just under an hour.

We encourage our walkers to go as far as they can comfortably walk, and to facilitate this we don’t mind pausing to take in the view and enjoy a natter, especially on a sunny day!

Like all our other walks, the Graves Park walk is free.

The main entrances to the park are at Charles Ashmore Road, Cobnar Road and Hemsworth Road (car park fees apply at Hemsworth Road car park but not at Charles Ashmore or Cobnar Road.
